Beiter clearance stars allow you to check your arrow clearance.
What do these do that all the home made methods don't.
Well clearance is not just about fletchings but also the shaft and high speed filming shows that in many cases where clearance is a problem it is not the fletchings that hit first but the shaft. Beiter clearance stars can be fitted along the shaft to detect this problem something that lipstick and powder cannot.

I never thought I would need these as my old tried and trusted methods always seemed to work. However using the stars showed that the contact with the riser was further down the shaft and although I knew there was some contact, working out where was being missed using powder or lip stick - Andrew Smith (Perris Archery).
